Live-in Companion & Care Assistant (Private Household)

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced individual to provide companionship and light care support for an elderly lady within a private household setting.

This is a live-in position suited to someone who is caring, attentive, and able to provide both emotional support and practical assistance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide daily companionship and emotional support
• Deliver a daily newspaper
• Monitor household groceries, check fridge supplies, and assist with shopping as required
• Accompany the client on shopping trips when needed
• Provide gentle massage for feet and back (relevant experience required)
• Conduct weekly UTI checks
• Monitor overall wellbeing and report any concerns promptly
• Assist with general daily routines and ensure comfort at all times

Working Hours

• Six days per week (Sundays off)
• Typical schedule:
  • 9:00am – 1:00pm
  • 4:00pm – 7:00pm
• Approx. 42 hours per week
• Flexibility required depending on needs
• Adjusted hours on shopping days

Requirements

• Previous experience in a similar live-in care, companion, or support role is essential
• A caring, patient, and empathetic nature
• Ability to work independently within a private household setting
• Must reside on-site (live-in role)
• Willingness to work additional hours if required, particularly during periods of illness
• Ability to travel to Jersey for up to three months per year
• Strong focus on companionship and person-centred care

Salary & Benefits

• £25,000 – £30,000 per annum (depending on experience)
• Four weeks’ paid annual leave
